Johannesburg, August 7, 2024 — The University of Johannesburg Auckland Park Kingsway (APK) Student Representative Council (SRC) proudly announces the launch of the 2024 Miss and Mr UJ APK contest. Set to be held on August 31, 2024, this highly anticipated event promises to be an evening of glamour, talent, and celebration of student excellence.
This year’s contest features a competitive lineup of finalists, with 10 contestants vying for the title of Miss UJ APK and 5 contestants competing for Mr UJ APK. The outgoing Miss UJ APK, Kwandiwe Sobuwa, is at the helm of organising this year’s event, bringing her experience and passion to ensure an unforgettable night. Sobuwa, along with her dedicated team and generous sponsors, has worked tirelessly to make this event a success.
Voting for the contestants began on August 6, 2024, and is available through two convenient methods:
- Online voting at miss-uj-apk.co.za/home
- SMS voting by sending an SMS to 47439 (SMS costs R3.00 – free SMSes do not apply).
“We are excited to witness the talents and achievements of our finalists this year,” said Kwandiwe Sobuwa. “The Miss and Mr UJ APK contest is more than just a pageant; it is a platform for our students to showcase their leadership, creativity, and commitment to their communities.”
